India is now producing some excellent wines. A good wine with spicy Indian food is a dry white produced by Grovers Vineyards called Blanc de Blancs de Clairette. Their Cabernet Shiraz Red Wine is also excellent, in particular the Grand Reserve. Vinsura Vineyards produce some excellent wines from the Nashik region. I particularly like their Sauvignon Blanc white wine and their Shiraz, a rich red.

Red wine is really very good. it is in fact very good for health also. ine suggested that moderate amount of red wine (one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men) lowers the risk of heart attack for people in middle age by ~ 30 to 50 percent. It is also suggested that alcohol such as red wine may prevent additional heart attacks if you have already suffered from one.
