License is required for use of walkie-talkie. It depends on the duartion of usage, for example if you are holding an event for a week or fortnight, you need to contact the local police station. they wil inquire the purpose of usage, the timings of event and usage timing. depending on the requiremnets they will issue a letter stating the usage of walkie talkie. If you plan to use walkie talkie for longer durations or plan to use on a regular basis, for that you must hold a license issued by the WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing of Ministry Of Communications). Obtaining a license requires you to pass an examination; higher license classes require passing more difficult exams.
