Timbuktu,in north Mali of western Africa facing these days with Ansar Dine a muslim group adament to destroy muslim saints shrines as being against Shariya,the World news report says.Muslims in Niger the neighbour country are unable to understand Muslims damaging own historical monuments & mosques.
What type of unalluring brotherhood is this ?

There is a version of thoughts called 'wahaabi', which promotes fundamentalist approach to religion of Islam, where there is nobody other than the Almighty Allah to pray to or bow to.
There is another version of thoughts which is 'sufism' which is a moderate and inclusive approach that many people find acceptable.
I don't know about the case in West Africa, but usually there are clashes when people are extremists in their own approach and not open to other's point of view.
