Hi! Though some sports give you a cardiovascular workout & muscle endurance to a certain extent, sport doesn't give you a totally fit body. Squash, badminton,tennis, football, etc are good cardio workouts though they dont technically fall under cariovascular exercise for fitness because the activity inthese cases is not sustained at high intensity for 30 continuous mintues.
Sportsmen have a rigorous exercise program to keep them ft & help play the sport better.
Sport is good as an accompaniment to your basic exercie routine.

This is a question, which has no right or wrong answers. Every individual is different, and all sports, if they involve cardio workout are good. It is what works for you. Ask a 1000 people, you will get a 1000 different answers. Find the sport that you are comfortable with. You are not going to pick up mountaneering, if you are not comfortable with it are you, if someone says that is the best sport?
