This is true because basically, GOD is only one although there are different ways leading to the same GOD. Here, in the quote of George Bernard Shaw, if we replace religion by GOD and versions by ways, it give more clear idea of what the great writer wants to convey.

The typical dictionary definition of religion refers to a "belief in, or the worship of, a god or gods"] or the "service and worship of God or the supernatural". However, many writers and scholars[who?] have noted that this basic 'belief in god' definition fails to capture the diversity of religious thought and experience.
Here in this quote supporting the above definition, shaw opined that all religions are one and treated the diversity of religions as different versions. It is similar to Hinduism wherein One God worshiped in many forms.

There is only One True God and only one true faith or "religion"..The universal educators are like teachers in a school; they progressively teach us what we are able to bear and incorporate into our individual lives and social relationships. There is also one God, understood differently by different cultures and called by different names. Humanity is also one, like waves of one sea, leaves of one branch, fruits of one tree. These are the fundamental understandings that will eventually bring unity to the human race and be the foundation for a planetary civilization.
Certainly ! there is only one religion: i call it Islam. That Islam which match only the holy Qur'an.
Because holy Qur'an is the only word of God which remained unchanged until today and will be remain unchanged as per Allah's declaration.
