It is true, in an ideal set up, a strong opposition is the backbone for a democratic superstructure, reigning in the ruling party when it errs in its commitment to the welfare of the people and the nation at large. But this great dictum has long been forgotten and the policy of any opposition in India is to pull down the government and try to be in power. When this is the sole agenda of the Opposition, they are not going to learn anything from experience.
