1) It is a very serious Q which always fails to get the required attention.
2) It is really very easy to sum it up like this.
3) NGOs come up like rainy season mushrooms all over India when some shrewd NGO promoters smell that the foreigners are willing to donate in millions to good causes like the above.
4) It is not that the promoters of NGOs are good human beings whose hearts go for the under privileged. For them setting up an NGO is a good business to make money where there is no auditing and accountability.
5) Finally, we cannot blame them alone for this entire mess. Why there are no good rules and regulations? Why they are not properly regulated / assessed / audited every year?

Most of them exploit the children n spend their food money for their own family.Besides, a large portion of the grant is misappropriated by them n false vouchers r submitted to the funding agencies.I know a person who receives money from many agencies on different schemes. He has no other income. But he has constructed a huge building n maintains a much better life than may people earning more income. So,the money goes to the pockets of the NGOs.A small portion of the aid is spent for the purpose for which aid is received.

There are some who are really putting in the effort and doing some good.. but there are always some black sheep in every organisation ... difficult to believe that all of them would be doing so
