No. Dictatorship in India will not work. The nation (and me too) has seen Indira Gandhi's (read Sanjjay Gandhi's) dictatorship for more than two years during Emergency time. The rulers were cut off from the people and the people were push straight into the hands of all sorts of officers from police to other govt departments. Instead of doing any good, the law enforcers joined hands and were happily lording it over the public without any fear of anyone finding out their doings. News media was heavily censored. India is to vast to entertain such an experiment.
