100% true Sir.But in a very deep sense one purpose of our life is to be happy itself not for ourown happiness or selfishness but for the sake of our dearones...so BE HAPPY..

I agree to the latter part of the question about being useful, et al but disagree unequivocally with the former.It is important being happy. If you are not happy then you are suffering this life as a unlikeable chore. but thats not the purpose of life. till you enjoy every bit of it and do your duty on to God then you are wasting life. so cheer up and be good and happy.

A happy man has to have additional qualifications such as honour,dignity,compassion,useful to all men and creations of God, and having authentic spiritual knowledge to make him a full man.He should be harmonious with natureLao-Tse said that the world moves in a rhythmic and cyclic pattern,and man\'s happiness depends upon his capability to understand this rhythmic and orderly nature of the universe.When we leave this world we should leave some imprints behind for the posterity to remember and revere.To cap it all we should try to erase the EGO in us
