..old songs had depends mainly on lyrics, to be entertaining.
There was not much visual, electronic or acoustic back up to pep up sub standard lyrics.

I donot know where our beautiful music industry is heading towards . I feel very sad to listen these new songs and even hardly know who are the singers. Golden days of our hindi music are gone. May God save it

In quantity, quality has vanished somewhere. But we do have great music with great lyrics even today as well. With lyricist like Javed Akhtar, Prasoon Joshi and Gulzar Saheb - there is lot of promising stuff available.
