1. We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. We can do no great things, only small things with great love--Blessed.
Mother Teresa
2. "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."-- Mahatma Gandhi
3. "I know of no great men except those who have rendered great service to the human race." - Voltaire
I have seen many persons going to church, temple or masjid regularly and praying but doing nothing for the suffering, old, sick or mentally retarded neighbours. Helping the unfortunate neighbours or others in the society is more than prayers. Hence, it is true that 'the hands that serve are better than the lips that pray only' because service is more than prayer in action.

Definitely... The hand who use to serve others are called helping hands and are much better then those lips who use to pray only. Ghar se mandir hai bahut door chalo yun karlein, kisi rote hue bachche ko hansaya jaaye...

Very true because the greatest prayer and devotion to God is the devotion to serve the poor and needy and spend our time in the service of others.

When u pray god for somebody who is in urgent need this will not work out. only when serve the person it will be better. like that when the same person is where is not approachable, then u can pray for that person for his speedy relief or regain his health. that is also there. immediate physical help is most welcome like first aid for the injured person.

Lips do not do prayer only,it does many many things,We should understand the meaning and the purpose of prayer as well. The most important thing -- Real prayer is NEVER done by lips.It is done by Heart only.Prayer done by lips are only for show and as per Bhagwat Geeta, lip prayer is Pakhand.Lip prayer has no meaning.Yes,Hands are Service Organs. If used for sevice to thers, that is best one and that is purpose of life. The most wonderful use of lips- - It can bring together hunderd/thousand of hands together for seving others(humanitarian cause) by sweet good words which are not possible without combine efforts of tounge and lips.

I feel its true ,mere prayer without good deed is like useless fruitless activity that does not create , saves , nurtures the world/univerce anyway.

I dont think so. Anyone who says so does not realize the power of prayer. Hands get the strength and inspiration to serve only if prayer is answered
