Statistics doesn't always give the real picture. If stats gives that, then the first three spinners of all time till now are Shane Warne, Muthaiah Murlitharan and Anil Kumble. But B.S Chandrashekhar is probably the all time best. Second best was Erapally Prasanna. I will also give credit to Lance Gibbs of West Indies, because in those days, fast bowling was the order, and spinners had hardly any opening. Even then he bagged 300+ test wickets. About B.S Chandrashekhar, it can be said that he was a wizard. I had no scope of seeing him live but from the recordings of his actions in matches, I don't think he has left any place for further thinking.

Shane Warne with out any doubt.. he has taken so many wickets on fast pitches in Australia, England, Newzealand, West indies

I feel Mushtaq Ahmed has been the most devastating spinner, kumble warne and murli are the best.
