Deccan is the base of Indian civilisation and deeply rooted.. None can invade deccan due to its cultural roots. Even during colonial era and post independent, it is regional parties that is ruling the region.
Auragzeb was one of those who explored the Deccan and failed..

The conquest of Deccan was would have been complete, had it not been for Shivaji Maharaj and his Maratha empire.
Now, it seems that, vote bank politics is supporting Auargzeb's (self appointed) successors to achieve his unfinished dream of conquest of Deccan.
