Q.

Viswanathan Anand has retained his World Chess Championship,
He has won the title twice before. So he is the first player in chess history to win the world title in three different formats: knock-out, tournament and match.
My question is -
a) Is this all purely due to hard work ?
b) Is this due to talent ?
c) Is this due to Divine Help ?
d) Is this due to any other reason?

A genius indeed he is and aptly so to be keeping Indias name high and flying for soo long. In a game so dominated by the Russians it is nice to see an Indian brain reaching the pinnacle. He must definitely be hard working coz chess is a mental game and it takes immense stress to play games and win em all one after another

Firstly Anand is not the first man to win it twice. Mikhail Botnivik won it three times during 1948- 1963.
Yet Hats off to Viswanathan Anand for his undisputed Triumph that he Earned through his patience and hard work. So I must say on your stated criteria a and b are key to his success.

Purely due to hard work. Do u know Anand travelled more than 40 hours by road to reach the venue as flights in Europe were suspended due to the volcanic ash from Iceland, lost the first game. He, however, quickly hit back with wins in the second and third game.
