The BMW F650 Funduro was launched in the year 1993. Apart from the brand name BMW, its best feature was that it was powered by an Austrian 652 cc single cylinder Rotax engine. The vehicle was built in Italy by Aprilia for the BMW's specifications. It was the first motorcycle by BMW, with chain drive. In the beginning there were two variants of the same family. The Funduro was a dual purpose bike, and was the first variant. The other one was Strada which had smaller front wheel and was made for street use.
