The tata Motors is agressively marketing the Nano as it was not so enthusiastically welcomed in its home country. Cheapness of the car alone will not make it a successful product, reliability of the car is a matter of equal importance. Suspect build quality, unreliable performance, safety aspects etc are stumbling blocks in the path of the Nano to success. So far as the state of Kerala is concerned, the Nano has drew a blank as even agressive marketing techniques are not yielding the expected results.
Tata Motors has exported close to 500 Nano cars to some neighbouring countries. Tata Motors havenot divulged the countries to which these cars have been exported. (Anyway, it may be Bhutan, Nepal or SriLanka). And in Nepal, the car will cost about Rs.4.6 lakh, consiidering the hefty 300% customs duty.
Whether the momentum in sales of the Nano car seen quite recently will be sustained in the future also, is a matter to be seen. Everything depends on people's con ...more

In April they have sold some 10000 cars ...a great achievement . Just in last November they could not sell even 1000 . I see good days ahead for this car .They have started exporting also . Gradually things look rosy for them . However they must see that they maintain a good relationship with custmers and their grievances if any are duly sorted out .
