Al are very good shares. But I prefer IOC. Now its lower price due to its recent bonus issue. I hope it will overtake BPCL very soon.

IOC - Rs. 324 (equivalent to 628 considering the 1:1 Bonus issue on 30 Oct 2009 - 52 Week Low - 281.15 - Appreciation - 123% Appreciation from low - Low Volume Stock.

BPCL- Rs. 617 - 52 Week Low - 329.50 - Appreciation - 95% from low - Low Volume Stock.

HPCL - Rs. 385.20 - 52 Week Low - 236.20 - Appreciation - 65% from low - Low Volume Stock.

Market fancy wise, IOC is the best bet though it has to be considered that it has a tendency to react strongly vis-a-vis crude prices. The comparative low prices vis-a-vis in 2007-08 have helped them to notch up a profit of 3697 crores in first half of FY 2009-10 as compared to 2600 crores for whole of 2008-09.

I would bet on IOC at this level or may be close to 310 as it has stayed steady. An announcemet of price hike could give some immediate appreciation.

I would go with BPCL because of their recent find of oil fields.
