In the past decade or so, it had been involved in too many patent cases in the U.S that, some of its operations got bogged down. In the past two years, it has got lot of these cases resolved either by court rulings or out of court settlements. It is one company that has put lot of money into R&D and whose benefits will start to flow now in the coming years.

It is also one of the companies which has weathered the market meltdown and is quoting a healthy Rs. 1180 today, far higher than the pre-market meltdown price that existed in December 2007.

With U.S sales going to show significant improvement, bottomline too is going to show a healthy state unlike FY ending 2009 when it reported a loss. The first half has been so far good and in terms of a recommendation to buy, it will worth taking this in the portfolio at a level around Rs. 1000 for those who dont want to take a risk at this level.
