Yesterday I asked a question whether certain degree eccentricity is present in all. Unrelated diversification of some of the well known industrial groups reinforces my view on this. Example ------once Tata Steel diversified into shrimp farming, Raymond Woolen into Steel & Cement, GNFC into Scooters, and Chambal Fertilizers into Computer Software etc. Besides many highly reputed industrial houses are going to Africa, Bangladesh, etc to set up business ventures with huge investments where conditions are not so conducive for business. Yes i understand ur points . All these companies who entered into unrelated business ventures had to pay sufficient price . It is always advisable to expand in core business indigenously or abroad . The chances of success in core business are very high .
