And so the progress in which we are moving is laudable and our progress in future will lie more on industrial development than agricultural development as we have only limited resources. Comment

I have no idea why we think "population" is a problem in India honestly. THe problem is piss poor DEMOGRAHIC MANAGEMENT and RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ACROSS DEMOGRAPHY. (2 important issues) .
India has 60 percent agrarian base, but about 80 to even 90 p.c plus of natl income, and dev. and resource is concentrated on metro zones. Which are a handful. AFter all , if u invest 100cr in city u get 500cr tomorrow but also a nation of a stagflated majority who then rush on all corners to cram into city's.
We do resource management in India pretending we r Singapore but India's demography does not permit the type of national resource allocation goin on where overwhelming majority of nation time, resources etc., gets disproportionately levied on them.
As national policy in summary, we cram opportunity, pretending as if we wer SIngapore I ha ...more

Nothing to apprehend as we have substantial chunk of untapped resources; petroleum and products thereof; coal; iron ore; gypsum; gold ; water and power, etc. But the nagging problem is population explosion and disparity amongst the people, given the level of literacy & economy, et al. But the growth rate sustainable is 8%, which is in the comfort zone.
