Q.
Amidst criticism of judicial activism, the Supreme Court today asserted that sky is the limit for exercising its extraordinary Constitutional powers to pass any order in the interest of justice, even if it means bypassing statutory provisions. Can S.C review the Lokpal Bill as self contained and effective ?

It is certainly within the powers of of SC.But let us only hope that some concerned citizen files an application for it's review or the SC takes an initiative on it's own to review it.

A true democratic country should have the highest respect for the Judiciary as it's the prerogative of the judiciary to safe guard rules, regulations and the constitution of the country, though they are formulated by the Country's parliament. Thus the government should declare that SC is the supreme instead of making them reminding the state.
