If statues of Gandhi are found in every city at squares, why have people forgotten the significance of Sardar Patel contribution in the independence movement. What he has done could have not been possible by other associates of the fighters. I hope his statue will inspire the generations to know his contribution; because independence was not only because of Gandhi, even Subhash bose's contribution has not found the due place due to congress rule India from the beginning.

Liberty statue is NOT the statue of a person. It is a monument for liberty. So there is no comaprision with statue of liberty. I am against building statues as such, for a variety of reasons. Let us recreate a monument that depicts our glorious past culture.....we have to search and find one concept for that.

Itz a nonsense. Neither it could be inspiring from integrity nor creativity nor art perspectives.
If he had thought of on more Ashok Stambh or anything else which depicts Indian ideology could hv been a better idea.

Statue of Unity, the tallest structure in honour of Sardar Patel is already proposed and funds are being collected from public participation. The monument will be built on a Public Private Partnership model, with most of the money raised by public contribution. No harm, having such a monument.
