Full HDTV, also referred to as ultra-HD, true HDTV, and 1080p, is a television (TV) display technology that surpasses the video quality and sharpness of the original high-definition television ( HDTV ) technology, providing an image resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels.

It offers a new great display experience, especially for blu-ray dvd watching and gaming
Some say that actually manufacturers take a chunk of the display, as 16:9 (1920x1080) has 120px less than 16:10 (1920x1200) and consider it a marketing hype
16:9 Full HD monitors will be the new trend as manufacturers push them into the market due to lower production costs.
