If such prasads could win elections then anyone could have won them. It is a gruelling battle of wits & politics to win elections in India specially now when the coalition politics is ruling the roost. It might help her boost her morale though which is not a bad option in such a time!!

Monks will give blessings and prasad to anyone who visits them. I do not think that this incident will make an difference to the election results.
Elections in Gujarat are won (or lost) on the basis caste, community and religion alliances fixed up by the politicians
