Q.
Some people say those who have more than two children should be disqualified from contesting for any elective post e.g. Panch, Zilla Parishad member, MLA or MP. What is your opinion on this issue?

This originated in Haryana where female population is less and women face exploitation. The disqualification will hurt women the most as they had no independence in Indian society and they helplessly bore a third child if their husbands wanted them to do so. The disqualification criteria is discriminatory and violates fundamental right. It is a complex and unacceptable thinking because one cannot mix participation rights in democracy with demography or family issues. Instead of such futile thinking Haryana should wake up and work to uproot all monstrous practices prevailing in the state, one of which is Khap Panchayat.

This is not the right solution. My opinion is that the govt should enforce heavy fine on those who do not cast their votes. If some on fails to do it 3 continous times, he should be deprived of Indian citizen
