Nalini Vinayak is a professional Sitarist and Tabla player of rare distinction from India. She hails from a family of musicians, dancers and composers. Blessed by her grandmother Mathaji Andavan Pitchai, Nalini has carved a niche for herself in the field of performing arts not only as a performer but also as a composer and teacher. She was initiated into the world of Hindustani Classical Music on Sitar by Pandit Satish Kumar (A.I.R. New Delhi) and later continued under the tutelage of Pandit M. Janardan (disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar) of Seniya Gharana. She received her training on the Tabla under Shri Srinivasa Rao of the Delhi Gharana.
