Shri L.K Advani,, the B.J.P patriarch today paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat along with Prime Minister. My question is, .... is it protocol and courtesy or political reassessment by Mr. Advani?

I am almost sure, it is not political reassessment. They may not like certain things for which Gandhiji stood and fought for but overall Gandhiji is respected for his contributions to the freedom of the nation.

Today, Shri L.K.Advani`s position in BJP is not what it used to be during good old days. He has become somewhat mild in his extreme views in Indian Politics. So we can not read very much now if he goes to Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. It has only a symbolic value.

If someone have difference of opinion, it does not mean that they do n't respect Gandhi. Matter of fact, many in RSS have liking and respect in Gandhi and even accept his move for dividing India was good in one way.

Advani is an Indian leader. He respects the nation's symbols like its constitution, flag, anthem etc. So there is no reason to look for any kind of meaning in Advani paying homage to Father of the nation. As a citizen of the country he is free to pay homage without any ulterior motive or compulsion.
