Q.

M happy 2 knw dat Vikas&Vishal Yadav, d killers of Nitish Katara, hve been sentenced 2 life imprisonment. However, keeping in mind Neelam Katar's fears abt whether dey wil remain in prison throughout,I suggest V tke a leaf out of d American Justice System.Criminals shld be handcuffed n chained by d foot while being transported 2 court n prison. In America, murderers n rapists r hardly allowed bail.Look at d Indian example of Orissa native Bitty Mohanti, who raped a German tourist in Rajasthan. What do you think our judiciary system procedures should be changed and judgement shld b instant??

I do agree with you in many points.
the legal system must go for a complete revamp.
every criminal must be booked and brought to justice within a year time maximum.
a person raped in his young age and enjoy the jail term at his old age is not the justice at all.
speeding up the process will definately send shock waves to criminal minds and they resist to do any thing wrong because there is no escape root.

In the same way the whole legal system is attached some way or the other to the executive. hence only revamping judicial will not give the required results, so the executive also must take the same time similar revamping.
any member pending court case must be not given a ticket by any political party.
so he also will be in a hurry to clear his litigations to contest.
any parlamentarian not in the house for a specified period of time in the proceedings must be barred from reelction. so people will desist from disturbing the parliment proceedings.
finally the panalty what you ...more

There are so many shortcomings in our legal system. We are not strict with even hardcore criminals, murderers, rapists and terrorists. Countries like China deal very firmly with such elements. I do not know, what prevents us from following no non sense policy in such matters.

You forgot OJ Simpson? Guy murdered his wife, was so obvious, and yet he went out scot free. The US is the same as India, no difference dost.

In India, serial killers look into their political contacts to beat the system- and in the US- lawyers do that job.

Even in India, if a "common" citizen murders or rapes, he is nabbed pretty instantly. The delays happen when the rapist has political connects (in India) or access to a good lawyer (in the US).

If I could afford someone like advocate Chappero in America, I could murder all I want and get away with it every single time. In India, instead of advocate Chappero it is a politician.

Those "handcuffed 'n' chained" only happens to the common citizenry who commit crimes. For the well connected, it is the same in India, and it is the same in the USA. Look at the makers of the alopathy vioxx. The drug killed more ppls than Bin Laden, yet the financiers and the investors into the brand were spared for ...more

Both should have been hanged till death. Life imprisonment is very little for them and nilam Katara is correct in her fear that these criminals can get parol after few years and with their criminal father can do so many nasty things. As regards handcuffed and chained, yes they should be.
