Giving the award to certain people means lowering the qualification of the award. Its already been done to satisfy certain segments of people including the media!! If its given to sports where their contribution to the society for improving the standards of people's life is meaning less. If the award is still given then its lowering the earlier awardies (whose selfless work to the society to bring in a change in their lives) like Sir MV Viveswaraya, Mother Teresa, Dr Abdul Kalam !!! (lets not talk of politicians who have won the award!!)

The India national cricket team won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, and the 2011 Cricket World Cup , and shared the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka. Domestic competitions include the Ranji Trophy, the Duleep Trophy, the Deodhar Trophy, the Irani Trophy and the Challenger Series. In addition, BCCI conducts the Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 competition.

The entire history of cricket in India and the sub-continent as a whole is based on the existence and development of the British Raj via the East India Company. The Indian cricket team is the national cricket team of India. Governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is a full member of ...more

None of the two mentioned here be given Bharat Ratna the highest civilian award in India, because what they have done for the welfare of the nation and its people is negligible.

No ! keeping in view the feats won by Dhyanchand & his contributions to the Indian Hockey & also the 3 consecutive Olympic Golds the super civilian award should be conferred on the great man Dhyanchand only....Sachin tendulkar can be no match to him.......
