Should India be named as United States of India, in view of the spectacular degree of discord seen between Centre and States ??

No India is still far away from the federal system, where different states may have diversifying laws for so many things including legal age for consensual sex, prostitution and capital punishment.

If there is a great degree of discord, then the word 'united' could be a misnomer.
Differences between states is normal and as long as the basic unity of people remains strong, differences could be sorted out. I think there is no need to copy the USA in the matter of naming our country. Even in the USA, there are differing laws on the same subject, but they remain united.
