Hi, offcourse punishment is required if they do something wrong, but punishment is an expanded form and it depends on what the child did..Dont be physical or abusive when it comes to punishing the child..One has to deal tactfully with the kid/child when he/she does something wrong or offensive. Before punishing, one has to decide what was the act he has done...Ek cheez jo mein apply karti hun, baccha agar kuch karta hain, usse completely ignore kijiye.......usse baat mat kijiye 4 ghante, dekhiyega khud realise karega woh galti.

Spare the stick and spoil the child!! is the adage. Quite true. A child needs to know that what it has done wrong...some one needs to correct it. A mild threatening is good enough or getting angry or rarely a mild stick should do. Otherwise we could spoil the child!

No, never a child should be punished,, Never give even an impression to a child that he / she is being awarded punishment. May be we may think that by punishing we are teaching a lesson but fact is scars of the punishment stay embeded on the child's mind. we should only advice and teach the child about good or bad acts,,but never demonstrate it.

No severe punishment advocated as it may upset and harm psychologically. Harmless punishment like murga baidna advisable.
