Kaaga sab tan khaaiyo, mera chun chun khaaiyo maas... in my opinion is Meera & Mahadevi Vermaesque... It needs to be understood and not said anything at all my dear...

At different stages of my life various quawwalis have touched my heart but recently I had gone to Rajasthan by road . . .where my friend Tanzeem introduced Naaz Khayaalvis tum ek gorakh dhandha ho . . . a quawwali sung by legendary Nusrat sahib. This deals with mysterious ways of God and how human mind tries to understand ways of God and love. I can go on and on, on this as this particular quawaali covers in nutshell whole story of known civilization . . . where man always has been puzzled by ways of God when he tries to understand but when he accepts that God is one & the supreme power he loses the anxiety for everything . . . and finds peace.

Years ago when I was still in school I had read Malik Muhammad Jayasis epic poem Padmavat, a fictionalized version of the historic siege of Chittor by Alauddin Khilji, who a ...more

In fact , I have no idea about "Suffiana"...but , not being able to restrain myself to write some thing on each of the magical words so nicely composed stating the pain of waitingly blindly , keeping the hope alive in love , that inspite of the fact , both sides of the river are very far from each other, the weather too is very rough...not certain that one's beloved one has dared to make a move from the other side under the unpleasant weather or not.....but one is still ready to wait endlessly keeping the candle light intact at its dying stage....often people say, words always do not matter, but they do so....wat can be the better words than these to describe one's devotion towards its beloved one ?...remebering the lines of the title song"paas raho ya, door sanam , khoos raho duan yeh mera mann, karta hi rahega.....sun , sajna, mera mann, geet tere gaata tha, gaata hai, gaata hi rahega...." perhaps this is why , each of us , often fail to describe fully, the sweet four letter word ...more

I also don't have much knowledge on Sufi songs, but I love to listen to the magical lyrics and different soul-touching rendition. Most of the sufi songs are very philosophical and full of sadness in them, but we feel so revived after listening to them. My favorite sufi song is "Tujhe dekh dekh sona..." by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in film 'Kalyug'. And then I like most of the songs by Kailash Kher, 'Tere Bina' from film 'Guru', 'Tere bin nahin lagda dil mera dolna..' from film 'Kache daage' by Nasrat Fateh Ali Khan, etc.

Tujhe dekh dekh sona
tujhe dekh kar hain jagna
maine yeh zindagani
sang tere bitaani
tujhmein basi hain meri jaan haai
jiya dhadak dhadak jaayen

kabse hai dil mein mere armaan kai ankahe ...more

Hi Shitnz, I liked this Q about Sufiana kalam.Well I am not so very literate about this subject ,Alll I can say that I am a fan of Nusrat fate saab as i had found have found great intersta and admiration in his songs ,which are mostly in qawali patterns, ,when heard I found this songs to have real beauty in the lyrics and great depth in his singing,The way he sings shows the terrible dard in what he wish to express through the kalam .I like not only the kal but equally his way of singingin usual qawali style in genuine classical way.His singing makes me glued seated just listening what he wish to express through his each soofi sangeet. Her I give a simple kalam which had imptressed me a In this kalam a lover says " Tumhe dillagi bhool jaani padegi ",the reason he explains through this kalam. The reason explained is also the my reason to like this kalam, especially the tadap or the suffering of a person who involves in ISHQ....!!!

Tumhe Dillagi. bhool Jaani Padegi, Muhabbat ki raa ...more

Kya baat hai Shintsie Jee !!! Aakhir hume bhi pataa chale ye wo kaun bhagyawaan `Johari` hai jisay ye `Shintsie` naam kaa Heera aakhir mil hi gaya ! Personally, I am so happy to get this admission from your pen and every word of this Sufiana Kalaam is aptly representing your `chaahat` for that one of the luckiest guys among all the aspirant candidates who sees his dream fulfilled. What I intensely feel here is nothing below to have power of Byron in me; then only I can relate my sincere feeling about this feather in your enchanting life, and to describe the glow on your face, Shintz :

``She walks in beauty, like the night, of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And on her cheek, and over that brow, so soft, so calm, yet eloquent.
The smiles that win, the tints that glow, but tell of days in goodness spent.
A mind at peace with all below, a heart whose love is innocent !``
This final `whose love is innocent` is the ideal reflection of your choice of Sufiana kalaam. Any song (of a ...more
