Absolutely wrong. There will be so much internal strife that you cannot imagine. Maybe the big arms dealers will be put out of action, but even the Namboodiri in Kerala (considered to be the most harmless person) will be forced to sport an AK47 wherever he goes.
Hasn't your text book ever taught you not to keep company with lousy characters? The majority of the Pakistanis today are wrought in such strife between themselves and with others that we could have states becoming like Waziristhan and such.
Their world is so badly steeped in internal conflict that there are more small arms and AK rifles per capita than probably their own armed forces taken individually (Pakistani servicemen are allowed to own small arms). Any unification at this time will concentrate their diverse energies towards the rest of India which will unify them further in hate.
PRAY that that does not happen. It is a nice romantic thought, but eeeeeechhhhhhhh is the reality.

Political divide can be bridged - not easy to bridge religious divide. A country divided on basis of religion - has anything changed for better in the last 62 years ? Things have actually gone from bad to worse in Pakistan - there are more intolerant and extremist people than before, the Army is not secular, the government has no control over big parts of the country, too many people with easy access to arms, country is financially bankrupt. Do not forget the dreaded Taliban and Al-Qaida. That is what we will inherit.

There may be no noticeable decrease in expenditure on Internal and external security - The Army morale will be effected.

I would say that will adversely affect Indian Muslims also - particularly the women.

There will be an increase in Hindu religious fundamentalism also.

No cheerful thoughts here, I am afraid.

India and Indian democracy is already under threat due to many internal and external factors - Central and State governments are struggling to mai ...more
