Most of The Domestic flights in India are Day Bound only .
The Flights which fly during nights and take off during mid night , pilots of these Fights may Fall asleep .Usually there are number of Cockpit Crew members from Two to five depending on the Type of airplane .All the cockpit crew members can not sleep simultaneously .
Now consider a scenario flight takes off From Mumbai at Two AM , and its next Halt at Newyork , airplane is Boeing triple seven , its a sixteen hour flight without any Halt .
Once airplane is airborne and attain the cursing ceiling , at about twelve kilometers above the Ground in pitch darkness , What type of obstacles may be there ,This flight's controls are handed over to Auto pilot ,most of the controls are now Computer controlled , what one can do for next five to six hours in cockpit ,Now most of the Activities in the Cockpit is with the various Air Traffic controller through Radio communications .In all probability Pilots (in Turn) may take a Nap .

Despite 50 % pilots falling asleep in mid air, the air accident incidence is very very low, Air India should seriously think of dumping the pilots next time they strike.
