The Emmy and Tony-winning American actress Cynthia Ellen Nixon is best known for playing a lawyer named Miranda Hobbes in the television serial 'Sex and the City'. She was born on April 9, 1966 in the New York City in the state of New York, U.S.A. The actress, who just turned 42, is a breast cancer survivor. She did not go public about it for two years because of the stigma associated with having cancer in Hollywood. She is now an activist in the campaign against breast cancer and has even had her breast cancer special aired in a primetime slot on the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) television channel.

Yes it's true Cynthia Nixon recently confessed that she had breast cancer, the 42 year old actress from the hit series Sex in the city has kept this a secret all this while because she wanted to avoid paparazzi at the hospital while she was under treatment, the cancer was detected early and thats how she was cured of it, Cynthias mother also had a battle from breast cancer not once but twice.
