New York is one of the most happening cities in the world. It is regarded as the cultural capital of the world. The theater culture on Broadway is probably the singular most popular aspect of New York's culture. Besides that, most of the popular cultures in popular media originated in New York. On the industrial front, it is the financial capital of USA. Also, there are many popular universities in the city - Columbia, NYU, CUNY. In short, there isn't anything that you can't do in New York.
