Om nama shivaya,Complete mala of Rudraksha have 108 beads (Dana), where as some devotee buy 27 number,54 number Rudraksha seed combination mala too as their wish to wear and easy ness for mantra,japa,meditation.

Rudraksha Mala must have 108 + 1 bead's , i.e total no. of beads are 108 + 1 (sumeru beads) .
If we are discuss about mala , than it can't complete without this counting of 108 + 1 .
However , rudraksha mala can be found of different mukhi's in which 5 mukhi is cheaper & most popular .

Actually in each mala ther should be 108 dane however as Rudraksha is very costly some make it of lesser number depending upon their budget.
