Q.

SPS Rathore molested Ruchika, a minor, and caused her to commit suicide. On top of that, he abused his power and drove Ruchika's family away. He also spoiled the life of Ruchika's brother. Finally, when he was proven guilty, he only gets 6 months jail time and then gets out immediately on bail? What kind of justice is this? Should not the record of the Judge who passed this verdict should also be investigated? Why dont naxalites execute him instead of targeting poor havaldars we wont mind them doing it actually...

The main culprit in this case is the delay in the judicial process. An influencial person can drag a case for umpteen years now. Take the case of Jeyalalitha. She is dragging her case for almost 13 years now and nobody knows when it will end, even though the current government is doing all to get the verdict as early as possible. We have to fix a time frame ,say 30 days to record all evidences in the case so that the evidence has some relevancy. Unless the evidences are recorded earlier, it losses its value as the witnesses may miss many points. And our law should be suitably modified to give maximum penalty and conviction for erring government servants. And also the police force should be placed under the judiciary so as to avoid political influence. Traffic and bandobust police should be made separate from crime police. When all such is done the judgment will reflect truth.

The culprit here is the legal system, the political establishment, the Govt machinery, all of which combined together to make a farce of the whole episode that led to the unfortunate incident of a young girl committing suicide, because her young mind could not tolerate any more of the humiliation and harassment that her family was put through once she lodged a complaint against a monster who wore the uniform to uphold law.

The legal system - stood by its dictum 'kanoon andha hai'. Yes, it chose to close it eyes and allow this farce to carry on based on inconsequential loopholes which was played upon by highly paid lawyers representing the culprit and allowed this case to drag on for so many years. Then as a final nail in the coffin, made a mockery of justice. Where is the judicial accountability that the stalwarts of the system talk about? Why aren't such errant judges brought to book and be retired from service, each one of them who was party to this farce that was played for so lo ...more

Ruchika lost her life, her family suffered for years. Real culprit Mr. Rathore got one after other promotions and better posting and eventually retired. There are numerous such instances which are unnoticed but the victims have been suffering for several years. It is really a fun that all human right bodies, woman organization and media remained silent for last 19 years in case of Ruchika till court delivered judgement. It should not be surprising that in a day or two all hue and cry will subside and the aggrieved families will continue to be tortured like Ruchikas family person.

When most of the Ministers, MPs and MLAs at state level are corrupt how can they inculcate good practices among IAS officers, IPS officers, judges, other functional heads and subordinate staffs?
When person like Madhu Koda or Lalu Yadav or Mayawati or Om Prakash Chautala or Bhajan Lal become head of a state, corrupt officers will get powerful and cream posting and continue to be awarded with quickest prom ...more

Many such cases are dumped by Govt. and power centres. Shameless people vote them to,power by getting money or favours.
The remedy is only with people. Unbless we install fear of throwing the govt. out of power on similar issues, our shameless politicians will not act.
Naxals are enemies to justice and reasoning and they should be curtailed at all costs. Nobody should take law in their hands.

Your concern about the events and Justice are really noticable. If this is system error how it can be corrected. In my opinion Medical fitness of persons working in such departments must be verified once a year.

Fully fully agree with you. jessica lal was another case of justice/injustice till public out cry. mis use of power is rampant in our country. in such cases govt should not hold public guilty if they take law in their hands. there was a case in india ( i dont remember now, but in maharashtra) when all the wemen beat till death a gangster. killing a rapist should be dealt by public . free from law.
