Henry Royce and Charles Stewart Rolls formed a partnership firm in 1904 with the objective of manufacturing motor cars. The company was given the name Rolls Royce by the owners and the first car built by the company rolled out on 15th March 1906.

Rolls-Royce Limited was a British car and, from 1914, aero-engine manufacturing company founded by Henry Royce and Charles Stewart Rolls on 15 March 1906 and was the result of a partnership formed in 1904.
