Retail FDI policy to stay-------news. Will it harm entry of multinationals like Walmart etc.? Your views?

It is good for consumers but not good for small merchants... eg. Sector 18 Noida is filled with small and big shops but with the opening of Great India Place (Mall), these shops have hardly any business because every customer is turning to GIP as for the customer, he gets everything available at GIP comparatively at cheaper rates.

No harm at all the govt will gain by way of VAT being paid even on the smallest transaction.
e.g. if i buy a pack of cigrettes in , say, manila i get a receipt with vat charged clearly shown on it., and the vat is on the sale price does it happen in india do the indian retailer issue a receipt and thereby charge VAT
