Q.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh made a sensational claim that two hours before the terrorists struck in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, Anti-Terror Squad Chief Hemant Karkare had called him and informed him that his life was under threat from those who opposed to his probe into the Malegaon blast. What a bravery after two years of silence! Your views pl.

Karkare was in great mess with the investigation of Malegoan in which there were a pressure from Home Ministry on him to place the case in MCOC in which he knew that the said case will get dismissed due to inappropriate placement. He might have called Digvijay to discuss the pressue from HM but alas he was made silenced.
Digvijay used the said phone details irrespective of the truth of conversation and background towards political settlement with its opponent.

If he was really honest, he should have informed the media in the next 15 minutes of the Mumbai attacks and not after two years. Karkare's widow slammed Digvijay for his claims. Talking to reporters, Kavita Karkare accused Singh of playing vote bank politics and denied that any conversation had taken place between her husband and the Congress leader, as claimed by the latter. She was absolutely right on her stand. If you take a general poll not only Mumbai whole India
