The objective of religion is to provide a frame work for spiritual journey. But in practice, religion degenerates to a crowd with mob mangers controlling it , it becomes politics.....politics in the name of God.

Religion is an attempt of man to reach God. Jesus reveals to man who God is. read the Bible. Jesus came seeking for people to show the way to God. No religion takes u to God.

Religions are not creared by the crearor(the one only , alimighty) but by the human being for their own interest to retain the power ......... if we will delet to the 1st line of my answer , then it would be to recognise a person based on his/her belief .......

Obeying few basic teachings for leading virtuous life as per prescribed from holy books and great personalities religion is a way of life as per some teachings for vedic religion it is not formulated by one but a collective efforts.
