The under-14 national football festival commenced at half past nine a.m. at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Goa on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. The participating teams are divided into six groups. Group One comprises Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand and Karnataka; Group Two comprises Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra and Pondicherry; Group Three comprises Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu; Group Four comprises Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur and Uttarakhand; Group Five comprises Assam, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal and Group Six comprises Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Orissa and Punjab. Delhi held Karnataka to a 1-1 draw in their opening game and then beat Uttarakhand 2-0.
