Manu was the first man to write codes & Practices called " Manu Smriti". He was NOT the first man born. In our philosophy, names were not mentioned in many areas and so even the names of the authors of the Vedic texts have not been given. Sage Vyasa was responsible for collecting, editing, codifying these because of which we have today the greatest of the philosophies, the Vedas.

It is not western theory. It is the old testament, which you are referring to. Indians also subscribe to the view that God created the first man. May not have been named Adam. Must be some sanskrit name
