Do you feel Calcutta / Kolkata is a better place than many other cities in terms of opportunities--- -because the city has good infrastructure, good and maxium type of public transports available,cosmopolitan culture and huge pool of educated and talented and skilled and unskilled human capital,a port city, and well connected by road and rail and air too,good weather good geographical location....your opinion pl.

Kolkatta is slightly better off then Mumbai in terms of congestion and infrastructure. Yup it is as urban as Mumbai but it is Mumbai which is easily recognisable as the lean and cosmopolitan hub of India. Also Mumbai is very very safe for women much more than Kolkatta and way way way ahead of New Delhi. Besides Mumbai is a true growth engine with many more opportunites than Kolkatta. Kolkatta may have had its days of glory in the past but it has lost the race to modern globalization. Maybe it can pick up a lesson or two from Mumbai both in terms of social fabric and economic growth

Yes,I think so.But industrialisation has been hampered by the Govt.policy.However,the people r vary nice n friendly n cultured.Given a choice,I would certainly prefer Kolkota.
