The very purpose of marriage is to provide security and protection to women. Live in relation ship may be ok in a small tribal community where the community as a whole lives as one family and is prepared to take care of members of its clan as a common group. In a large modern day society live in relationship can not replace the institution of marriage. The verdict of supreme court is highly misunderstood. Often people and media interpret it to mean court has given an open verdict against marriage and has allowed live in relationship as a norm. The fact is court has not upheld live in relation is as good as marriage. Court has only provided some legal rights to a women to protect her from being exploited just because she has had a live in relationship with a man. Earlier a women under live in relationship did not have any rights for maintenance in case the relationship broke up. Now she can claim some financial protection in case the relationship breaks up. Comrade Irani, I encourage u to hit any Harappan anthropological text and see what a COMMON HOME was.

A COMMON HOME was a place for live ins in traditional India, at least in Harappa. Marriage is certainly a wonderful thing, but unless u have a - pardon the pun- Socialist Republic- you can't say the entire society is "marriage friendly" for the population at large.

A marriage is love, care, sacrifice but also....

1. involves a level of fixed costs to be met per month at all costs.
2. involves time contribution towards "the household."

If either 1 or 2, or worst off both fails- the marriage is on the rocks, even if the man and wife are the most nicest guy and gal on earth. In SOcialist countries, cost of living is quite low, but a bit bare. But u can start a family which is well fed, has some modest entertainment etc., but is laxed.... ...more

Bhut kuch galat hota hai chori chupe ab bari hai yuth ki wo kaise suchahi ko acept karta hai ab to court bhi sath hai...........ab apnao na apne pyar ko bina shadi haq se lakin ab ise galat bolte hai kyunki bardast nhi hoti hai aaj ki sachaiiiiiiiii.............kon hai jo ye dare dikha sakta hai no one even main bhi nhi so why all sey that is wrong..........

With marrige being so late , the society being so typical at standards , this was going to happen.
Carrier and marrige are not related and we must adopt our culture with which we were free from suspecion. Yes the female & male both should earn
