To clean the surface of a raw casting,-The part is held(Rotates slowly) in a closed chamber with compressed Air spray-This cleans all dirt and dust ,oil marks etc etc on the parts

Sandblasting is done to clean up frills and mud from cast metal surface in foundries prior to machining .
