Kaaka Bhushundi was a great Shiva Bhakta and hence Shiva grants him Raama Bhakti Saamraajyam. The puranas are meant to convey certain principles which human beings are advised to follow in their life. One should not go by the event ,but by the principle behind it. Two ways of protecting 1.sustaining 2 removing impediments ( slaying of asuras). siva\'s boons were misused by the asuras. he is the destroyer of taamas. but taamasic nature is found mostly in the asuras. siva too killed many asuras. he destroyed 3 cities of the invincible asuras and hence called tripuraantaka . symlolically the 3 gunas . to show that he is above them. l
