Q.

To become close to a person, do we need to know him/her fully? Though we emphasize on transparency in relations, how we become close to certain persons, especially in virtual world, when we don't even know their basic or real whereabouts? What are the magical factors which make this happen?

Maybe those in the virtual world have similar tastes and similar ideology like us and therefore we can bond well? Who says the virtual world is not real time? Besides do you know that the so called 'real' world is also virtual (maya)?

In real world, we can see and know a lot about a person. However, in the virtual world while we are not even sure about persons identity it is difficult to judge the person through exchange of few messages; greetings, or through his questions and answers.

Whenever a person steps out in the open, his best manners are in parade. He goes out of the way to hide his real nature. He reveals to the world his true nature to the minimum.

However, at one point when you are turned to other person's wavelength a time comes the person is bound to reveal his or her true nature. It could be out of sheer inadvertence or force of habit. He is bound to reveal something about himself, which you should be quick to notice and form your opinion. There would be a supple indication that should be enough to put you on your guard.

The goodness ought to be the part of your conduct. If someone is shaming goodness by mastering the art of pretense, his goodness does not last long. It must reveal itself ...more

The closeness that develops in a relationship in virtual world, one goes by what is communicated and it is taken at face value. Over a period, you can read the feelings, emotions of the virtual friend and thus develop a bond wherein you eagerly look forward to communicate/receive feedback etc. This is a wonderful relationship wherein one can derive maximum satisfaction and comfort and still not become a prisoner of such relationship. True virtual friends never probe, too deep into the personal affairs and never write or say things that can hurt the friend. This applies in real friendship as well. The magic behind this virtual friendship is nothing but the zeal to be touch with unknown friends and engage in a meaningful interaction at our convenience.

There are different forms of interactions with people we come across, be it the virtual world or the real world. The two major forms of interaction are - one that progresses to a personal level and the second one being that remains more at a professional level in a figurative sense.

I will take this forward. Even when we are in the real world, we may be friendly with many but in those we may go that one step further and get to establish a relationship where each other feels comfortable in the other's presence, where it can be carried forward to a social level, where are vibes are good enough that, you enjoy a movie or a meal or a party or an outing together. Where one doesn't have to look around to pass time or take forward a conversation but every second passes by without each of them even coming to be aware of that. It could be as an individual or even as a family.

The second one - there are people we admire or we depend upon or are congenial to each other. There is lot of mu ...more

You are right Mukthaji! It is difficult to know any person fully whether it is in real life or in the virtual world. What I do is based on my intuition about a person and would love to compare to compare it with a savings bank account. I always believe that people are basically good but some turn otherwise when they fall prey to their own negative instincts. So in any relationship I put all the 'required' trust(like money) in one account. If the trust is worth giving, overtime with interest the deposit will grow.If it fails, it will end up with zero balance!
Virtual world is in fact a leveller. It brings a certain degree of level plaing field for everyone. The physical attributes are not the driving factor in a virtual relationship like the one we see here.It is about the compatibility of minds that wins the trust and love for each other, first than the status or gender of the person in the real world.

Just as the saying birds of the same feather flock together, in virtual world also people choose on traits identical to own interests. Whether in real or virtual, it is not wise to fall for mere words and superfluous actions. With a little bit of observation, we can identify a person to decide upon a comfortable exposure level. Not necessary to know fully. In virtual world, not at all required to know anything to be friend with, if no push from both sides to get unnecessary personal information. They can just share their views, jokes and knowledge.

In a virtual world...we conect to one another not because of outward appearances...or any other prejudices, biases or motives. Here, we "see" a person with the mind's eye... It is said that the truest connections are those of the mind and that is the magic here. This magic of mental attunement makes other mundane things such as personal details of whereabouts, age, marital status, appearance etc unimportant. AT the same time ...most of us do follow our instinct which tells us that some things are not as clear cut as it seems from their writing... ....we keep a wary distance with such ppl automatically. ...atleast that is what i do. Afterall the words here are just a facet of their personality which is appealing to us and maybe when we make the transition from virtual to real....we shud be prepared to be either disappointed or elated.

Basic instinct n the divine touch are the two factors that sometimes bring people closer n gives rise to the feeling that you've known each other for ages despite a few meetings whether it's in the virtual or the real world. That's the way the lord governs us,guess that's the only magical factor.
