Normally potatoes and onions are stored in same godown in regulated markets. Even in my house we put both in same basket and they do n't rot if weather is dry.
Potatoes and apple .......itz odd combination either at growing end or storing end. We keep apple in fridge whereas potato at dry place. If we try to protect potato by keeping apple with it, what will happen to apple?, within two days it will rot :P
